Maintenance of water heater

Lack of proper maintenance can damage other components of the heater. This could lead to more expensive repairs, and could cause the water heater to start leaking. Normally, you should get about 8 to 12yrs out of a water heater if you maintain it. If not, then maybe 5 to 8yrs. Plus a slightly higher electric or gas bill due to poor efficiency.
